Theater

New Haven has a long and renowned theater tradition, which began when New Haven was the major site for Broadway shows to premiere before opening in New York. The New Haven Symphony is the fourth oldest symphony in the country and maintains an active schedule featuring numerous guest performances. Sports

New Haven is home to the New Haven County Cutters of the Independent Northeast baseball league, as well as the Connecticut Tennis Center, site of the Pilot Pen International Tennis Tournament.
