Dr. Hile joins the Yale faculty after serving as an Emergency Physician in the U.S. Army for nearly 12 years. He is a 2002 graduate from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his Emergency Medicine training at Darnall Army Hospital in Ft. Hood, TX. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for service as Emergency Physician at Ibn Sina Hospital in Baghdad Iraq from 2006 to 2007. He was awarded the Bronze Star for exceptionally meritorious service with a Joint Special Operations task force in 2010-2011. In 2012 he was awarded the Early Career Achievement Award presented by the Ohio State University Alumni Association to an MD who has made significant career contributions before the age of 40. He most recently served as Department Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. Dr. Hile's research interests are in the areas of resident and medical student education, wilderness medicine, and cardiology.
