The Developmental Follow-up Clinic (sometimes called the Newborn Follow-up Clinic) is for formal developmental evaluation of high-risk neonates who have "graduated" from the Newborn Special Care Unit, and is conducted jointly with the Child Study Center and Yale Pediatric Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
The clinic is available to all infants from the Newborn Special Care Unit who weighed 1250 grams or less at birth. Other infants are referred on an elective basis.
