Allergy & Sinus Program
The Yale Allergy and Sinus Program provides management of complicated allergy cases, discussed during weekly conferences. It is a multidisciplinary service offered by ENT specialists and allergists. A dedicated ENT subspecialist concentrates exclusively on the treatment of pediatric otolaryngology cases. These children are cared for in the Pediatric Specialty Center and Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. The Yale Somnoplasty Program offers noninvasive treatment for snoring.
Special services offered by this program include:
- Guidance with medications for the allergic reactive nose
- Allergy desensitization shots for allergic rhinitis, asthma, and hymenoptera stinging insect hypersensitivity
- Intravenous immunoglobulin (gamma globulin) therapy
- Immunosuppressive therapy, including immuran, cytoxan, cyclosporin, and corticosteroids
- Optimal immunopharmicotherapy for asthma
- Functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty
- External- and middle-ear surgery
- Surgery of neoplasms of the nose, sinuses, larynx and pharynx
- Surgical treatment of maxillo-facial injuries
- Diagnostic and therapeutic broncho-esophagology
- Surgery of the skull base
- Somnoplasty for snoring
- Pediatric otolaryngology
