Obstetric & Gynecological Anesthesiology

Members of Yale Obstetric/Gynecological (Ob/Gyn) Anesthesiology are responsible for the continuous coverage of Yale-New Haven Hospital's Labor and Delivery Suite. In addition to management of routine labor and delivery, the team participates actively in the care of the increasingly complex problems relating to the high-risk patient. The management of high-risk obstetric patients and neonates is facilitated by the geographic proximity of the Newborn Special Care Unit. The section's goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for both mother and baby.

The Ob/Gyn Anesthesia team is committed to meeting the personal needs of the obstetrical patient while minimizing pain and discomfort. Physicians in this section are also responsible for providing anesthesia services to patients requiring gynecologic oncology related surgical procedures.
