Yale Autism Program

Our core mission is to advance the best science of clinical care for individuals with autism and their families. Our clinical services include evaluations, treatment and capacity-building consultations to schools and the community at large. Our research covers a wide range of clinical and basic science projects, from gene-finding to access to community services. The focus of this research is social and communication development, linking genes to brain to behavior. We train the next generation of leaders in the field in various disciplines of science and clinical care. And we are deeply involved with parent support and governmental agencies, having the ultimate goal of advancing knowledge, disseminating best practices, and improving services in the community.

  • The Developmental Disabilities Clinic provides a range of services for children with pervasive developmental disorders.
  • Comprehensive evaluations are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly experienced clinicians. Evaluations include psychological testing, speech-language testing, and a psychiatric assessment.
  • Recommendations are made for intervention and educational planning.
  • The Toddler Clinic provides specialized diagnostic services for children age one to three years suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • Comprehensive assessment of cognitive, social, communication, and adaptive skills, as well as recommendations for treatment and family support.
