Medical Oncology

Yale Medical Oncology brings together a unique team dedicated to identifying and applying new forms of treatment for cancer. Members are board-certified in internal medicine, oncology and/or hematology, ensuring patients the most inclusive and innovative diagnostic and treatment methods available. Medical Oncology serves as a focal point in integrating other disciplines, such as therapeutic and diagnostic radiology, pathology, and surgery. Medical oncology is a vital component of Yale Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute designated center in Southern New England.

At Yale Cancer Center, science and medicine converge as the latest research is transferred directly to the patient. Clinical trials and research studies are available for appropriate patients with early or late-stage diseases who are under the care of Yale Cancer Center physicians. Patients at Yale Cancer Center can feel confident that they will receive the highest level of clinical care from our physicians, nurses, and staff, and have access to the most innovative cancer treatments available anywhere.

The outpatient centers are conveniently located in the Smilow Cancer Hospital and are staffed with physicians, oncology nurses, social workers, nurse practitioners and pharmacists. Multidisciplinary weekly conferences guarantee comprehensive case management.

Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven brings the very best cancer care available into a single world-class cancer hospital, uniting some of the nation's best minds to develop new methods to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
