Hematology

Yale Hematology provides state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic care, with an emphasis on molecular explanations and solutions to disease. Clinical disorders of particular interest include: erythropoiesis and coagulation, hematologic malignancies, myeloproliferative/myelodysplastic syndromes, dysproteinemias, hemoglobinopathies, and hematologic disorders of systemic disease.

Comprehensive services available from Laboratory Medicine and Hematopathology complement the service and ensure a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis. Faculty are board certified in hematology and actively participate in the Yale Cancer Center. Blood banking, phlebotomy and pheresis services include all the modalities necessary for excellent care for hematologic disorders. Nurse specialists focusing on hematology/oncology patients are essential participants in the health care team.
